Isle of ManLocated in the Irish Sea, surrounded by Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales, The Isle of Man has seen invasions from the Irish, Scandinavian, Scottish and English and is today a British Crown Dependency. The Crown retains responsibility for ensuring the good government of the Island and for its external affairs, but the Island's democratically elected government exercises full control of its internal affairs and territorial waters.
The Isle of Man was used as a base for alien civilian internment camps during the two world wars.
Today, the Isle of Man is an international finance centre.
